Nüfüd is a mockumentary project that delves into the realm of food artificiality. The short film illustrates the pitfalls of a future when the human diet is solely comprised of Nüfüd, a highly processed and 3-D printed food alternative.
The satire shines light on how the hype of tasty processed and artificial convenience foods has led to consumer passivity and in turn, bad health. The mockumentary concludes with advocating for the Trüfüd Movement, an initiative that encourages food education, learning to cook, and a healthier population.
Inspired by the corny TV ads that followed WW2 and the curious reality of today’s food laboratories, Nüfüd’s aesthetic is sterile and grossly sweet.
Nüfüd was exhibited at OCAD University's 100th GradEx in May 2015.
